I am LOVING the responses to my last post - you guys are so interesting! A few of you put all 10 credits into one thing, with astonishingly little thought, so what I would say is this: what are you waiting for? I have so little of that clarity in my life, and I envy the hell out of people who do, so those of you who know what you want to be able to do and create, consider this a friendly kick in the ass to get with it! Or is it the easy promise of being amazingly good that's the real incentive there?

[livejournal.com profile] mirabile_dictu asked how I'd use mine, and here are some things.

+ I'd like to be able to do video editing, because there's just so much you can DO with film and video editing, but talk about a learning curve both technical and artistic! So maybe 4 points there.
+ I wish I could skip through the irritating parts of getting my knitting up to decent, so I'd take two points there and hope it would build on what I can already do.
+ My sewing machine and I are still giving each other the silent treatment, so 2 points to sewing.
+ A point each, then, to piano and drawing. Or maybe some points to curling, so I could enjoy the game with less worry of falling directly onto the hard, hard ice at any given moment.

See? Too much stuff I can't do! I'll also admit I'm a bit surprised that so many of you chose languages; I understand it, but I have such a strong urge to create lately and am so overwhelmed by the obstacles to doing so, so that seems bigger in my head. I guess I'd imagined that everybody else would feel the same; typical of me, probably. :)

In other news, I got my boots from Duoboots this morning and oh my god, LOVE. Considering the exchange rate, they're definitely investment shoes, but they fit beautifully and are lined with GREEN FLEECE and I'm so, so pleased. Those of you with difficult to fit calves might want to check them out.

They are fantastic! And yes, pricey - it's 20 pounds to ship but they DO take the VAT off the top, which is pretty much the shipping fee. And, you know, that's a classic shoe, so I should wear them for years. *rationalizes like mad*

Those really are gorgeous boots. And I'm rather in love with the Lisbons.

I will be strong.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the black/slate Lisbon and considered it, but I wanted something a bit more neutral and tailored. That is not to say I won't go back for more. *covets all boots*

I've never actually owned a pair of boots.

I love them and covet them, but live in constant paranoia that they'd look strange and/or hideous on me.

I bought a pair of boots from Duo last year and I LOOOOVE them! More than a person should love an inanimate object, but still - classic black boots! That fit my calves! I'm trying to decide which pair to buy this year, cause I should probably have some in brown, too. It's only logical.

Well of course. I will probably be back for more black, because I'm just that gothy and emo (and the warm colors that I want to pair with gorgeous chocolatey browns don't wear all that well on me) and omg BOOTS!

what are you waiting for?

Time. Money. Mostly time though. It takes time to study. Especially when the studying is because I want to learn, not just pass a class. I could pass a language class without a problem... but I want to actually retain the knowledge - and that takes A LOOOOONG time of studying for me.

Oh YAY. I have tiny feet and narrow calves and tall boots always gap on me and look dumb. Now, if only I had 120 pounds to spare.

Well, I picked singing with little thought, but that's in a world where 10 credits could overcome tone deafness. :p
