So I know many of you are keeping your job-hunting karma to yourselves

and I totally approve that strategy *looks sideways at [livejournal.com profile] sanj* but I have just applied for a new job. I'll take whatever scraps you can toss my way because, really - my benefits are fantastic, I generally like the people I work with OK (and some more than OK, because at what other job will I have two fantastic fangirls? *clings to [livejournal.com profile] darthfox and [livejournal.com profile] ellen_fremedon*), etc, it's just that it makes me cry on a regular basis, and today was one day too many, apparently.

Those of you who are colleagues as well as friends: down low, obv, please. Thanks. :D

Also, though? In 3 hours I will have a [livejournal.com profile] longtimegone of my very own. \o/

:-(

I'm really sorry your gig makes you cry. Mine has only done that once, and it was Microsoft's fault, so I can't get my head around your being so unhappy. But I hope whatever the new thing is, you get it and it goes well and makes you happier.

Related, while I've still got you doing the scuttlebutt thing: any idea what the upcoming Mandatory Meeting with D of R is about?

Yes, I do and I am angry enough at him right now that I can't even talk about it, largely because he barked at me today during RCC and, just, urgh. The hostility level right now is so high and I feel like I'm in the middle of a big pile of unhappiness. It sounds like you are well-isolated and dude, you shouldn't move a muscle if that's working for you!

As long as the meeting is nothing I have to worry about, I'm good with non-muscle-movement. :-P

It's to do with the merit review process, mostly, I think. He's going to announce some changes that are mostly unimportant but completely hysterical (since they unchange some other changes they made last year) and, just - there will be some small adjustments to be made but you'll probably be fine with them.

And, seriously, I just can't even see why any of this ever seemed like it mattered in the first place.
