Wah, "What You Leave Behind" on Spike. *weeps like a little girl* Odo/Nerys is love and I will never forgive the Casablanca ending and I hate feeling left all in situ like that.

God, I'm seriously a mess here. This is what happens when you let soppy girls love science fiction. *clutches tissue box*

Wordy McWord. Odo/Kira was the best relationship Trek ever managed, a truly egalitarian pairing based on long friendship, mutual respect, and love. Worf/Dax KINDA approached it, but even that was more about the titillating factor of "Ooh, hot chick and Klingon stud!"

Odo/Kira really exemplified what Trek was about...overcoming differences, achieving peace, and believing that anything is possible.

The ending for them was sad, but I had to admit that it was the natural conclusion to his character arc, and to an extent hers as well. Her character growth was due in part to his influence, and his ability to leave her and do what was necessary was due to hers.

I must admit that I was damn near in tears at the end myself. It's the only Trek ending that does that to me. Frankly, I'm not so fond of how they split up the gang, myself.

between this one and the one where Sisko.. disappears from the timeline and Jake has to save him - I love DS9 so hard.
