New entries for my life lists

List of D00M!: Children's dance shoes. I just received my daughter's first pairs of dance shoes, both size 8C. The ballet slippers are too big - I have the little elastic that goes around the shoe pulled as tight as I can get it and there's still a little wiggle and the strap across the instep just sort of hangs there, useless - but the tap shoes are so narrow I couldn't even get them on her foot and am going to have to order a wider shoe. Also, her tutu was back-ordered. :-| However, the cuteness of this little bag almost makes up for the hassle of it.
List of WHEE!: Bluegrass. To my ears, the banjo and the mandolin both just sound so happy, not like a stupid, willfully ignorant happy, but like a resilient happy, a hopeful happy, like a happy that is determined to exist and finds purpose enough in that. This one was really added to my list of WHEE! a long time ago, but I'm appreciating it again today, so there. ♥
+++++++++++++++++
It's been a long week and it ended with a long and cold rainy day. (cold: bring it! rain: fuck off!) I'm giving a talk at our meetings on Monday and I'm anxious - I've only been there a month and although the talk is informal, there will be a lot of people there I haven't met before and I don't want to make an ass of myself. *frets*
And if you haven't seen this yet, you should. It's very pretty.
kaalee is marrying her Copilot tomorrow. I hope the day is everything they've been hoping for.
