Stormy weather is way more fun when you're holed up in your house, roasting turkey. At about 11 this morning I decided to work from home today, which was working really well until the center lost power and the remote server died. Still got some good work done, though, and dinner was delicious. (And I'm really glad I wasn't there when they lost power, as there are no windows in the building, and I don't know what the safety lighting is like. I bet THAT was fun.)

I wonder if the people camped outside Circuit City and Best Buy lasted through the storms. That wind was pretty intense for a while there.

Random linkage:

+ bought these for the kids. I'm hoping it'll simplify the whole coat-hat-scarf-gloves thing - can't hurt, eh? I'm also looking for mittens on a string, or maybe I should just sew some regular gloves on some kind of string or something? This is not something I grew up with, obviously - anybody know where to buy these or, if there's some magic to making them, some guideline about the length of the connecting string or something? *flails*

+ oh my. :-?

I was at Circuit City today and I noticed the people camping out - except I was at CC at noon. What's that about?

Have your child put on their coat. Thread the string/yarn/cord/whatever up one sleeve, across their neck, down the next sleeve. Allow a little extra so they can pull the mittens on and off with the cord threaded through. That's how long. :) Some coats also come with clip-on mittens, instead of cords.

Something about a Nintendo something or other? Maybe the Wii? I think? I don't know, it's a console gaming thing, and I think they said they were only going to release 3000 units in the US, so pandemonium is ensuing among people who have time to camp out in big box store parking lots.

OK, this? I can do. :D Thanks, Plu!

Those boots, huh? They have really expanded the kinds of stuff they stick the school logo on. I fall for it every time. :p

I got a glossy color catalog from the Co-op today and, man, the crap they have in there. You can be damn sure, though, that if I were going to spend $2500 on a pair of shoes, Bevo would not feature and neither would orange. Or ostrich skin, come to that. :))

Even I, in my unending greed for Bevo-printed items, do not want UT boots. I am getting cowboy boots for Christmas, but they won't be orange or ostrich. :p
