Post for whining purposes only. Feel free to join in/gloat.

OMG, y'all, the dollar. *pets its hair and readjusts its oxygen mask*

1.4 against the Euro! Holding steady right at 2 GBP. Even trading against the Canadian loonie. (Because y'all know how dearly I love Canada but doesn't that seem just WRONG somehow?)

I was whining to [livejournal.com profile] longtimegone last night, reminiscing about the days when we were 1.4 against the pound and you could buy 5 or 6 francs to the dollar. At the moment it feels like we'll never see that again. *is woeful* We're planning to take the kids to England next summer, and I'm hopeful we can still do it, but the exchange really hurts.

*frets with you*

We're planning a similar trip. Luckily, we'll be able to stay with friends to save on hotel costs because it would be nice to, you know, to be able to eat!

See, we're now at the point with our family where I will no longer inflict the four of us on anybody who doesn't share DNA with one of us, and especially considering the size of flats in London, it just doesn't seem like a good idea. I need to start looking now for flat rentals, because the best combinations of cheap and good go quickly.

I mean, yay? But ouch.
