Dec. 11th, 2006 07:11 pmRight, so my updating has really fallen off, eh? Well, it's busy - the trip to Florida was a bit of a clusterfuck -- seriously, just about everything went wrong and no, we didn't see the Saturday launch, and I'm so pissed about how all that went down I don't even want to tell the story and I have an official hate-on for the pathetic organization at Kennedy -- but M. and I spent so much time laughing at what a complete mess the whole thing was that, as a whole, the trip is still just barely in the 'win' column. The fallout from all the crappy news we got during the trip remains to be dealt with, but M. spent the morning in the car repair shop so that's (mostly) handled and I'm coming to terms with the fact that we're going to have to move house sometime next summer (seriously, just... don't ask) so, all in all, we'll be fine.
Here's one good thing, though - the big toy store at Downtown Disney is now selling a build-your-own-lightsaber, kind of like the Mr. Potato Head thingy they had. It's just a big row of parts and you're free to shove however many pieces you can together for $19.95. (It's basically these pieces, although they also have a purple filter for the cool Mace Windu effect, to which I say YAY YAY YAY!!!) O. was vibrating by the time we left the store, and he now has a double ended light saber that's about twice as long as he is tall. He's not yet knocked over the Christmas tree with it, but it is surely just a matter of time.
And I have cards from
morganmuffle (who also sent tea, so woo-hoo!) and
alissomora. Thank you, sweets! You'll notice that I haven't done a holiday card poll this year, and that's mostly because it's extremely unlikely I'll get them out. Yes, I suck, etc but this year has officially conquered me. Thank you, and I'm sorry. *squeezes everyone and offers cheerful holiday thoughts. No, really, I have some, and I'll share!*
Also, soon there will be an
aegeus here! December madness has struck, and although it's exhausting, it might be just the distraction I need.
And speaking of distraction, ( my xmas stocking ). Are we officially bored with these yet? I'm always late on these things. *goes to look for stockings to help fill*
