New morning schedule = much, much better. Whee! Also, randomly, I am done with summer. Next, please!
---
You know those little Sharpies that fit on a keychain? Did you know that they now make ultra fine point ones? They do! I bought them in purple, teal, red and black this morning. This is made of awesome, with a side of awesome sauce. I went into Staples to buy a package of book rings for my son's teacher; $40 later I was stumbling out with all kinds of wonderful colorful things that I needed. Yay office supplies! ♥
---
They demolished the Wilson Bridge last night and it must be said - what an anticlimax. Ho-hum. The whole bit about having a contest to see who got to blow up the most hated bridge in the area WAS clever, though.
---
We've been watching old X-Files lately, and four observations:
+ I am endlessly amused at the X-Files version of Washington DC with a SkyTrain
+ I don't remember it being this high on the creepy/gross factor.
+ I just saw the episode about Ghost Festival and omg! Lucy Liu! BD Wong! Whee!
+ I didn't remember just how sexy the really early Mulder/Scully stuff was. When they're at that Arctic exploratory base and checking each other for ice-borne parasites? Damn! *fans self*
---
Finally - Dork Tower brings the intellectual property debate into tabletop gaming.

on 2006-08-29 06:06 pm (UTC)Yay for the new schedule working!
I know they must have thought that blowing up the bridge at midnight would be the least impact to traffic, but can you imagine the people who live nearby who may not have known? My mother heard it and she lives about 15 miles from there.
And I can never be trusted in Staples. Never.

on 2006-08-29 06:17 pm (UTC)Before shows on DVD were all the rage, I collected a bunch of the 2 episode VHS tapes you could buy of X-Files, and that ep is one of my favorites. Funny note: the chick who actually has the parasite? Yup, that would be Felicity Huffman :D

on 2006-08-29 06:37 pm (UTC)And the very first episode, when they are in the forest and Scully has those mosquito bites on her lower back but she thinks they might be something...bad? So she runs into Mulder's room in her underwear so he can look? GUH.

on 2006-08-29 06:39 pm (UTC)And yeah, def with the creepy/gross stuff. Watch out for the 'Home', 'Squeeze'/'Tooms', 'Darkness Falls' (the first episode I ever watched, scared the BEJEEZUS out of me, and also hooked me), 'The Host'(OH GOD EW), and 'Firewalker' episodes. Those are the ones I remember being really creeped out by.
Man, I should get on downloading or buying the DVD sets, really.
