So the rumor around here is that Michael Steele, our lame duck Lt. Gov. and the man who ran against Senator-Elect Ben Cardin, may be tapped to run as the new leader of the RNC. I've mentioned here before that I think Steele has a strong future as a vote-getter and campaigner for the Republican party, and I think he would be a very smart choice - can't get much better than a charming African-American as a Republican mouthpiece, I don't think. But watch out if he DOES get the job - this is the kind of deceptive politics he likes to practice, trying to pass himself off as a Democrat in highly Democratic districts. (God, the irony, yeah?) And I did mention all the trouble his campaign people made for us in our polling place, didn't I? It all makes me anxious.
