Whee, Friday, with Doctor Who and BSG and pear cider and sleep, glorious sleep. *flumps down*

Some weekend soon I need to go to Georgetown and hit Lush for gift type things. Any DC folks want to join me and make an afternoon of it? Food! Coffee! Yummy smelling bath things! Shoooooooooooes!

Dude, I totally want to go! I keep hearing about this Lush place and want to see it in person. Also, food! (I have finals or papers due on 12/2, 12/5, and 12/8. So possibly that week is not good for me.)

OK, I am proposing Sunday the 10th, in the afternoon. It's a little hinky, because we'll be driving back from Florida on Saturday and maybe Sunday morning, and that ASSUMES that the launch isn't delayed until Saturday night - if THAT happens, I don't know how it will go or what we will do. So go ahead and pencil out that afternoon for shopping in Georgetown, and I'll come up with more details (time, place, etc) as we get closer, and then by that Saturday afternoon I should be able to tell you whether it'll happen or not. That work for you?

The Georgetown Lush is teeny-tiny, maybe the smallest I've ever been in, but it's what we HAVE, so I go with it. I got hooked in London 10 years go in a tiny little shop in King's Road and used to mail order from Canada before they opened any US stores. Now they're all over the place, mostly on the west coast for some reason, but there's a handful in NYC (and it says something that most of the time when I make it to Lush, it's in NYC - because Georgetown is such a pain to get to, what with their sad dearth of Metro access) and one tiny, friendly store here. Their stock changes rapidly and everything just smells so GOOD and they're usually v. good about samples and letting you try things out, and how does that not win? I'm currently a big fan of Sonic Death Monkey shower gel, which is just fantastic - besides stuff for office friends and teachers, etc, I'll be grabbing a big bottle of this on my next trip in.

Wow, can I proseltyize for bath and body or what? Good to know that I at least HAVE a belief system, no? I believe in the power of a kickass bath. *nods*

Okay, so I just realized that there's an online discussion/review thing at 6 that night (seriously, the rule of law school is that you will make no plans and have no time to yourself.) So I can definitely make the Lush trip (and now I HAVE to after that description and also I want to take a bath) but I might not be able to stay for dinner. (Depending on whether I think there's more value to showing up at the discussion than just reading the transcript later.)

I have a feeling that finals will require a lot of kickass baths. Meep. (My finals stretch over THREE WEEKS. I have never had 12 hours ruin 3 WEEKS so badly before.)

that actually sounds cool. though, I don't even know what Lush is. I just like the idea about heading out for some fun one weekend. ;)

Yeah, me too! But I probably can't do it next weekend because we're moving into our new townhouse! Granted, it's a rental. But it's really nice. :) I'm excited.

When ARE we going to get together and watch Driving Lessons. I'd be up for it this Sunday, since we're not going to be looking for a house. But it might have to be an early show.

Yay, I want to hear all about the new place! Is it the one near Tyson's that you were looking at? I'd offer to help, but we're spending all weekend in Kentucky with M's brother's family. Happy Thanksgiving!

I responded to Smitty here with time/date/etc, so check that out and see if that works for you. AFA Driving Lessons - our schedule is mad, because M. is working a lot on the weekends for reasons that are kind of longwinded and boring, but has a lot to do with all the travel we're doing in December. And, in fact, M. is working all day tomorrow. :( How would you feel about some evening after work?

:( That sucks about M's work schedule. I don't think I can do it after work, unfortunately. This week is going to be really busy and I'm not sure how long it's even showing. I talked to my hub and he said he wanted to see it, so we might end up going tomorrow. I was going to see if you could meet us, but I totally understand. I'll let you know if we don't end up going, which is possible since we seem to be a slave to unforeseen circumstances as well.

The townhouse is in Fairfax, a little bit farther out than we originally wanted. But it's only a couple of miles farther than where we are now in Vienna. It's still a reasonable distance from my metro stop. The area is absolutely gorgeous. We really wanted to have some modern amenities with my family and the baby coming. This place is new, big enough, has a garage, is in a v. nice complex, and super close to (.1 mi) from a huge Wegmans (my new obsession), walking distance from the charming Fairfax Town Corner, and close to Fairlakes shopping and Fair Oaks mall. I have to admit, I was seduced by the new and shiny. You guys will have to come out and visit. There is a playground in the green space outside our yard. The kids would enjoy themselves.

Oh lord, gifts! I haven't even begun to think about gifts. Although Lush sounds like a good place to start. I'd be up for something, depending on what crazy life has handed to me. I should be able to tell you things like when exams are, but I have no idea. I'm not even sure what day today is.

*pets you* You'll get back into the swing of the academic schedule soon - I bet next semester will be easier. I don't think I ever got all the way OUT of it. :))

I responded to Smitty here with date/time concerns, so check that out and let me know. :))
