DC people - movie this weekend?

I'm still in Texas for the holidays. The kids are swimming everyday, my parents bought them a tiny kiddie four-wheeler for Christmas, and I've been driving around town in the biggest fucking F-150 you could imagine - with the sunroof open. Yep, it's Christmas vacation in Texas.

BUT! The point of this post is that we will be back in DC on Saturday, and is anyone interested in catching "Children of Men" in G'town early Sunday (so we can get out of there before all hell breaks loose, ideally) or sometime Monday afternoon? Marc and I are going to have to see it in shifts because it's not starting this week in Houston. (Which is, may I remind movie producing types, the fourth largest city in the US - just, like, better not to get me started on all the ways that that whole thing sucks.)

Christmas here was fine and the kids are deliriously happy to be spending time with their grandparents. It's been a good visit but, wow, I'm really glad we don't live here and will be returning home in just a few days.

(And sundancekid, I JUST saw your post. How long will you be here? We're going into the Museum District tomorrow with the entire family - I don't know what tomorrow evening looks like. ♥)

You know, I might be able to go! We're working on the house, so it depends how much we get done before then. We made some major progress last night, though. It looks promising.

I'm kind of jealous you're in Houston. Lately I've been missing it, even though I really do love it up here. I think I miss the sunshine and the relatively easy access to wherever I wanted to go. I miss the Saturday and Sunday brunches (why isn't brunch a big deal here?). I miss the familiarity, the Heights, the food. Yes, I keep mentioning food. ;)
