I'm not actually dead, just v. v. close. Work, as usual, is kicking my ass. I'm still up to my elbows in running the Experiment of D00m (running it Sat, Mon, Wed & Fri this week) and yesterday and today were big meetings with the off-site research staff and some of the clients - they come to the Mother Ship 4 or 5 times a year and since we're v. busy getting FY08&beyond planning done, that's been kind of intense. The other big project I was whining about a few days ago has diversified a bit so it's not just me freaking out, now EVERYBODY is thinking about it, which is v. helpful. And I got a completely useless promotion this week - my duties and pay don't change, just my title gets a little "Senior" stuck out front, but what the hell - I'll take what I can get at this point.
Also, it's really hot here and my upper back/shoulder/neck area is screwed up again, so ow.
The good news is that I'm logging so many hours between the meetings and the lab that I'm taking most of Tuesday and all of Thursday next week off, and I really can't wait. *passes out from exhaustion and running-around-like-a-crazy-woman-ness*
And so, naturally, I'm looking at graduate programs again. I KNOW, crazy talk and all that, but when the chair of the department practically begs you to consider applying to his program, you kind of have to at least consider it, right? One day I will break this degree collection thing I've got. This is not that day.
