I should probably not be as charmed by this story as I am. But god, this is a kid with serious initiative, who knows how to put a plan together and go for what he wants. Sure, there were details he didn't work out all the way, but he's 6 - he'll learn.

Marc's take: "If he makes it to 25, he will probably be on a top 100 list (entrepeuners, up and coming artists, youngest ceo's, etc.). It's that 16-25 period where he will be like, "Let's make a bungee jump using only a box of rubber bands!" O at 6 would have just whined until we fed him. A would probably attempt to make something herself. ("Pancakes!")"

He's not wrong, although there's a reason we keep a bowl of apples and bananas on the kitchen table - the kids have been helping themselves to those for years. :D

Did not go to the Josh Ritter show last night with [livejournal.com profile] omphale23 and [livejournal.com profile] riverlight, because I was just so, so tired and couldn't bear not being at home. And although I hear his set was amazing, it also apparently didn't begin till 10 pm, and I would have been absolutely dreadful company for the hours of waiting. I just suck at mid-week stuff right now - I'm exhausted, and overstretched, and it sucks because I really want to spend time with [livejournal.com profile] riverlight and I genuinely need to talk to [livejournal.com profile] omphale23 and I'm frustrated at not having the time and energy to make it happen. *pouts*

I can't wait for autumn. Srsly. I am hanging on with both hands, here. I find the change of season so invigorating, and I really need that boost of energy from the cool air. (I typo'd "boots of energy" at first. I'd really love those, too!)

Also, the Toyota Tacoma/Warcraft commercial came on during the Today show this morning. Really? THAT'S their market? *confused* I still find the ad hysterical, although I'm not sure how many people will get it, at least without the Leroy Jenkins connection. Still, *amused*.

It actually does kind of make sense, if you think about it. A -lot- of people who play WoW are in that truck driving demographic.

And every time I watch that commercial, I laugh a little bit more :x

Mostly I meant, why is it airing during the Today show? I find that utterly inexplicable.

I'm thinking bored housewives. If [livejournal.com profile] wow_ladies is any indication there are a loooooooooooot of housewives sitting around playing.

It would thrill me more if I felt that more of them had a backbone. I mean, hey, awesome that you're playing, but so many of them (at least the ones I know of in DotA and that post in the wow_ladies comm) seem to be extremely reliant on "hubby" (can I tell you how much that word bothers me?!) to help them play. I think many of them got started because they found themselves becoming WoW Widows, and decided 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em' and then got addicted too! So whoo more female gamers not in the 18-24 demographic, but boo as to kind of their reasons for picking up the game.

Anyway. I'll shut up now :D

My hubby helps me play all the time! I'd be soooo lost without him helping me in WoW! *giggle*

But...my hubby's not playing a healer character anymore. He can't rez me if I die. *pout*

Oh wait, his rogue has jumper cables!
