Also, my Firefox freaked out

and I lost 9 rows of tabs. **9 rows**
I have no idea what I've been doing for the last month; it's like it never happened now.

on 2008-11-11 01:15 am (UTC)Then Firefox crashed, and unfortunately for me, all of my Lexis-Nexis tabs redirected themselves to the main search page when they loaded. I was so upset, especially as the paper was due 2 days from then :P
Good luck!

on 2008-11-11 01:39 am (UTC)Wow.
I almost never run above one row of open tabs -- I think this is not normal amongst Firefox users. It's my OCDness, though. I get freaked out by a lot of open tabs. Nevertheless, that sucks that you lost your bearings like that.

on 2008-11-11 02:19 am (UTC)Wow, I didn't think having nine rows of tabs is that strange. I always have at least four and frequently up to seven or eight.

on 2008-11-11 06:58 am (UTC)Tab Mix Plus is my #1 Firefox extension of choice and I have to confess that I used the option which lets you specify the minimum tab width so that I can get 25 tabs in a row, and even then, I often have so many rows that they take up a substantial chunk of the browser window. And, yes, I habitually Bookmark All every night, or sometimes two or three times a day if FF is crashing, with the result that my Bookmark folder is ridiculously long and contains folders of bookmarks from 2006.
It's a stressful and unproductive way of doing things; you always feel like you're behind on things, like you're almost seventy (or two hundred and seventy) tabs in debt. Honestly, at the moment I'm just using MSIE at the moment because there aren't seventy tabs that pop up and nag me what a bad {f|F}riend I'm being for not being able to catch up with things every time I start my browser, which is why I fairly often end up replying to people months after they've posted, which is just not what LJ is about, somehow.
If it's any consolation, we tab abusers are not alone.
